The latest interview I had the pleasure of doing was with Sifu Phu Ngo of South Jersey Kung Fu. I’ve been training with Sifu Phu since I was 14 and at this point he’s become something like extended family. He’s been at my high school graduation party, I’ve been to various birthday parties for his children, and I’ve spent a lot of time with him at different events from seminars, cornering fights, tournaments, and obviously training. Sifu Phu is one of the most impressive and most knowledgeable martial artists I have ever met and dare I say it but, he may be this generations Bruce Lee between combat insight, revolutionary ideas, physical fitness, and pure martial arts abilities.  Sifu Phu’s understanding of energy or Chi, seems too movie fu to be true or his ideas too ancient to be taken seriously, however I’ve personally felt this “ancient Chinese secret” which as Sifu Phu explains it, really isn’t that secret. This energy or energy control, is simply basic knowledge of physics, anatomy, and how nature works in universal law, nothing mystical at all.  Beside’s his knowledge and genius of martial arts science, Sifu Phu is still able to perform over 500 push-ups straight and thousands of crunches, among many other exercises he performs regularly as part of his own training regime. Did I mention he’s only in his 40s and outperforms most twenty year olds in physical fitness? Sifu Phu is the real deal, doing seminars in Pittsburgh yearly, receiving multiple nationally recognized martial arts awards, has performed at Rowan University’s Asian Cultural Festival, and demonstrating regularly at local MMA and Martial Arts school throughout South Jersey while slowly growing followers and students of his teachings and philosophy of energy, through the internal martial arts.  So without further ado, here is my fifteen minute audio interview with Sifu Phu:
